Dazed Magazine - Spring 2025 Doechii

This is February 2025. Doechii has just taken three Grammys in one night: Best New Artist, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Album. Only the third woman in history to win that last one. The mixtape that won it beat out Eminem and J. Cole. Two weeks later, she's on the cover of Dazed. Spring 2025 is the New Gen issue, shot and styled by IB Kamara. The photographs are sculptural and strange in the best way. The interview is worth reading: she talks about building something real over nine years before anyone was paying attention, about refusing to lock herself into a single aesthetic, about what honesty in a come-up story actually looks like. She's more open here than most artists are at this level of momentum. Doechii has been making music since 2016. What changed in 2025 is that everyone else finally caught up.
